Displacement for Displacement: Israeli settlers being evacuated

Due to heavy shelling and rocket attacks by Hamas, around 60,000 Israeli setllers in 21 settlements were evacuated in Sderot by the IDF.

The Zionist newspaper Maariv expected that 24 settlements around the Gaza Strip would be evacuated, namely (Nahal) Oz, Erez, Nir Am, Mafalsim, Kfar Azza, Gevim, Or Haner, Ibim, Netiv Haasra, Yad Mordechai Kermiya, Zikim Kerem Shalom, Kissufim, Dorot, Sofa, Nirim, Nir Oz, Ein Hashlosha (Third Eye), Nir Yitzhak Be’eri, Magen, Ra’im, Sa’ad and Alumim.

Similarly, due to relentless attacks from Hamas’ Qassam brigades, the settlement colony in Asqalan is being evacuated by the IDF. This settlment camp has 150,000 Israeli settlers. This comes after Hamas spokesperson had recently said that they would implement a policy called ‘displacement to displacement’

The settlements within 5 km perimeter distance from the Lebanon border are also being evacuated due to heavy shelling and rocket blasts from the Lebanon side.
